When you can NOT book this massage. A connective tissue massage is highly effective, but there are some situations where the treatment is not recommended or should be avoided. These include: 1. Active skin infections or open wounds: If you have an infection, eczema, or sores, the massage could worsen the condition or spread bacteria. 2. Recent surgeries or scars: Fresh scars or surgical areas need time to heal fully before this deep massage can be applied. 3. Inflamed or irritated skin: Conditions like rosacea or severe acne should be treated with caution, as the pressure could aggravate inflammation. 4. Varicose veins: Pressure on areas with varicose veins could worsen the condition or cause discomfort. 5. Blood clotting disorders: If you have conditions like thrombosis or are on blood thinners, this massage could increase the risk of clot dislodgement. 6. Heart conditions: People with severe heart problems or high blood pressure should consult a doctor before undergoing deep tissue treatments, as it can stimulate circulation. 7. Pregnancy: Deep tissue massages, including on the abdomen, are not recommended during pregnancy, particularly in the early stages. 8. Fever or illness: When your body is fighting an infection or illness, it’s best to avoid treatments that might over-stimulate the system.
